I- Invest in others daily.
F- Faith in God, your purpose and in others.
E- Elevate your thinking.
Our Story
Began with a need for resolution and clarity to the challenges in life that often bring us brokenness, uncertainty, and a sense of loss and failure. The path is one in which “There is much to learn that will take a willingness to not know”. Yet a comfort and direction that can, and has been found outside of self. Surrender, prayer, and faith hold the keys to your story, and mine. “Courage and obedience produce great rewards”. DLCsr
Meet the Team
Family where it all began, faith, commitment, and determination
I am a writer, author, speaker and currently live in Dallas Texas. Married to my treasure beyond compare Vilma Ivellisse, a native New Yorker by birth, a Texan by choice. This is my favorite photo of us in Cabo San Lucas with family on vacation.

To us the footprints in the sand represent where we have been and what we have learned as we walk hand in hand confident and excited about the future.
I grew up in Dallas Texas and earned my living as a professional salesman for more than 30 years in the oil-well drilling and production industry as well as telecom, real estate and insurance. Vilma has earned numerous awards as a highly regarded office manager and administrator for INFOSYS Consulting and currently Patterson and Associates Insurance. She has been given the title of Director of First Impressions and anyone who has met her understands why. Vilma and I have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 rescue dogs Rosie and Clooney.
My passion in life is all of the above, and my interests range from health & fitness to music and dancing with my beautiful and charming wife. My calling in life which I have come to understand through my own success as well as failure is to encourage others. To share a road map of the road already traveled; to help you and others avoid the traps and pitfalls along L.I.F.E.s path.
But before I was a writer, speaker, or podcast host, I spent most of my life in industries that demanded toughness, discipline, accountability, and resilience.
Twenty-six years as an equipment sales rep on drilling rigs and production platforms and petro chemical refineries taught me how to work and think under pressure, how to keep working when conditions are hostile, and how to read what’s beneath the surface.
Two decades as a commercial property adjuster put me in the living rooms, farmhouses, office buildings and parking lots of people on the worst day of their lives — people staring at what was lost, trying to imagine what could be rebuilt. I have sat with destruction, and watched ordinary people choose to start again.
That’s not a resume that led me away from my purpose. That’s a resume that built it.
When I say to someone ” You are not behind, you are not disqualified, you are becoming” I didn’t borrow that language from a self-help book. I earned it and experienced it on oil well drilling rigs, and in commercial property claim files.
I have literally watched people rebuild from the studs up. I know the difference between a foundation that will hold and one that wont and I know it in my hands, not just my head.;
Those careers placed me face-to-face with pressure, uncertainty, loss, destruction, recovery, and the extraordinary strength of ordinary people.
And somewhere along that journey, I discovered something important:
People and their stories matter.
I didn’t start out to write and tell stories. I started writing because I needed a way to make sense of those events that have dramatically impacted my life.
See our story began with a need for resolution and clarity to the challenges in life that often bring us brokenness, uncertainty, and a sense of loss and failure. Yet a comfort and direction that can and has been found outside of self. The path is one in which “There is much to learn that will take a willingness to not know”. Often referred to as faith.
- Live like who you are and what you do make a difference.
- Invest in others daily.
- Faith in God, your purpose, and in others.
- Encourage others as a way of life
